Anyone! We’re especially interested in supporting Columbia City based businesses, organizations and residents.
The Festival Street design and designation allows us to easily close down Ferdinand Street to traffic, from Rainier Ave to about where the angled parking starts. This means all kinds of events are possible, from celebrations, to vendor fairs, to performances.
No, but it might be possible for you to partner with a bar or restaurant on a beer garden attached to their establishment.
You can host an event for part of a day, all day, or even multiple days! However, events must end by 9 pm. Check out our calendar, submit a form, and we’ll confirm whether the space is available.
It takes up to six weeks to receive a street closure permit.
We require $100 to obtain the permit and for garbage disposal. We also require a $150 deposit for opening and closing the street. This deposit can be offset by volunteers helping to open and close the street.
The party producing the event is responsible for leaving the space squeaky clean of any litter. Garbage and recycling needs to be moved to the designated alley trash can and the can liners need to be replaced. We provide the can liners.
Access to electricity can often be arranged in coordination with a local property. Water is more difficult, but may also be possible. Please let us know if you need either.
